Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Publication

These Terms and Conditions govern the submission, peer-review, and publication processes for the International Journal of Engineering and Computer Science (IJECS). By submitting a manuscript to IJECS, the author(s) agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Scope of the Journal

The International Journal of Engineering and Computer Science (IJECS) publishes original research papers, reviews, technical notes, and short communications spanning all fields of theoretical and applied engineering, computer science, and related interdisciplinary subjects. All submissions must represent new, unpublished work.

2. Authorship and Responsibilities

  • Originality and Plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts must be the original work of the authors. Authors confirm that the manuscript has not been previously published in any peer-reviewed journal or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. IJECS utilizes plagiarism detection software. Submissions found to contain unacceptable levels of plagiarism will be rejected immediately.

  • Authorship Confirmation: All listed authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research, analysis, or manuscript preparation. The corresponding author guarantees that all co-authors have approved the final version of the manuscript and consented to its submission.

  • Data Accuracy and Access: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all data and statements presented in the manuscript. They may be required to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationship that could be viewed as influencing the work or findings presented in the manuscript.

3. Manuscript Submission

  • Format and Guidelines: Submissions must strictly adhere to the IJECS Author Guidelines regarding formatting, referencing style, and manuscript length.

  • Fees: Authors are responsible for any Article Processing Charges (APCs) or publication fees specified by the journal upon acceptance of the manuscript. Fees are typically non-refundable once the final acceptance decision has been issued.

4. Peer Review Process

  • Review: All submissions undergo a rigorous, double-blind peer review process . The decision to accept or reject a manuscript rests solely with the Editorial Board, based on the recommendations of the peer reviewers regarding scientific merit, novelty, and relevance.

  • Timeframe: IJECS aims to provide an initial decision within a specified timeframe (e.g., 4-8 weeks), though review times can vary depending on the complexity of the research and the availability of qualified reviewers.

  • Revision: Authors must address all reviewer and editor comments in revised submissions. Failure to resubmit within the given timeframe may result in the withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration.

  • Copyright Retention/Transfer: Upon acceptance and prior to publication, authors are required to either transfer copyright of the article to IJECS (or the journal publisher) or grant the journal exclusive publishing rights under an open-access license. Specific details on the Copyright Agreement Form will be provided upon acceptance.

  • Open Access (If Applicable): If IJECS operates under an Open Access model (e.g., Creative Commons License like CC BY), authors grant the public the right to use, reproduce, and distribute the article, provided the original authorship and source are properly cited.

6. Post-Publication Policy

  • Corrections and Retractions: IJECS is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. If an author discovers a significant error in their published work, they must notify the Editor immediately. The journal will issue a Correction (Erratum) or, in severe cases of proven misconduct or ethical breach, a formal Retraction .

  • Archiving: The journal ensures long-term preservation of published content through recognized digital archiving services.

7. Disclaimer

The views and opinions expressed in the articles published in IJECS are those of the individual author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the journal, its editors, or its publisher. The journal and its editors shall not be held liable for any inaccuracies, omissions, or damages arising from the use of information contained in the published manuscripts.
